Soju is Evil!!

Well, believe it or not, I almost forgot to make a post for the June 3rd weekend! I just thought of it tonight, and figured I'd better get it done. Friday night, our family arrived, and Scott came shortly afterwards. Vince couldn't make it up, he had the flu, which really sucked. About 9 or 10pm, Kim showed up unexpectedly (she wasn't supposed to arrive until 4am). She managed to leave work early, so that was a bonus. We vegged out in front of our "fire"....Darcy made this from some scrap metal, he welded it all together to make a tube, and then filled it with citronella oil. He bought some wicks at Canadian Tire, and Presto! It works like a charm, especially when the woods are dry and we can't have a campfire, plus it helps keep the flies away. Pretty cool!
Darcy also spent lots of time with the whipper-snipper, cutting the grass in the yard. The flies were really bad...hence the bug-suit. It looked so much better when he was finished, great job Darc!
On Saturday, Darcy, Scott and Kim went for a spin on the bikes..Mitch and I stayed back since we no longer have a back seat on our bike, and Mitch didn't bring his. They cruised around for a few hours, ate lots of flies, and came across this tree stand in the woods. The boys had to climb up for a pic...
And here's Scott and Kim...cool glasses Kim!
Saturday evening Mary and Chris arrived with a truckload full of wood for us (Mary gave us some of her wood from last year). We decided that we HAD to have a campfire, but only a little one! It was just meant to be, and it's sure not the same without one. So, we had a fire, enjoyed some beers, and then Darcy brought out the Soju. Forgive me if I'm spelling this wrong..it's a Korean rice liquor, and let me tell you, it's very evil! It has no taste, and is actually quite easy to drink. Mary, Kim, Chris and I drank way too many shots...the result was not pretty! The next day all four of us got sick! Needless to say, we're pouring the rest of it out! Dean, if you're reading this, please don't bring any home with you this fall...heh heh!
I thought it would be fitting to show a picture of it...it even looks like a water bottle! Anyway..lessons learned! Overall, we had a great weekend...minus the soju of course.

This will be my last post for quite a while. We won't be making any camp trips until mid July..next week we're heading off to Ottawa to stay with my brother Matt and his fiancee Karine. Can't wait! Till next time, Liss
